MY chANCES with very very low SAT score

hey people, im early applying to dartmouth, my dream school , and to tell u the truth, most of everyone’s stats here scare me to death. Can any1 let me know if ive got any remote chance of getting in, given my very low SAT scores?

Im Christian and Lebanese but was born in Oklahoma, USA… am a dual citizen
I attend the most priviliged, richest, competitive, and well-known school in Kuwait
and i am looking to major and minor in Economics and History respectively for a career in corporate law, hopefully or as we say here, inshallah (means if god allows).

GPA: 3.875W with only one AP
Rank: 6 or 7/125

ive only taken the SAT I once (bombed it) but am takin it again (this time preparing for it) in NOv… My scores were V: 560 M: 670 W: 590 Total: 1820

SAT II Lit, US History, MathIIC are gona be taken on october 14, next week.
ACT will be taken later on in the month.

Junior year I had only taken 1 AP class but took 2 exams… Stats(5) English Lang(3) but took it cold
Senior year I am enrolled in 3 AP’s: Calc AB, US History, and Econ (Mac/mic)

I know to most of u this doesnt look like such a rigorous schedule but this is the most rigorous a courseload can get in my school. Here they limit juniors to 2 APs and seniors to 3. You have to apply for a spot in each AP class and the AP Panel of teachers approves or rejects you. And wow they are real strict.

EC’s: Im gonna make this short and sweet… know that for most activities i travel outside of kuwait, either to another country in the middle east where the tourney is being hosted, or sometimes to Australia (as is the case for design tech)
JV and V Volleyball team (setter) 10th 11th 12th

INJAZ, business club organized by the kuwaiti government to educate students on how to start and run new businesses 11th 12th
NHS 11th 12th

Work exp: ive had numerous jobs over the summers and during the regular years including…
working at a large bank over the summer
working at a busy travel agency
working at National Car Rental
babysitting at the church nursery weekly
editing a few articles in a popular magazine every 2 weeks
helping to run a computer internet and gaming cafe weekly

My teacher and counselor recs are to be pretty good and my peer rec will be written by our class valedectorian

Hook? dont really have any other than i’ve been around violence all my life whether it be in the iraqi war or in the jewish-hezbollah war this summer. Oh and I was on CNN while evacuating Lebanon if that helps any ahahaha. And with regards to legacy, both my parents met and married while attending Tulsa University or University of Tulsa (one of those). My grandfather is an absolute genius and “big” in Lebanon and was invited to MIT by an admission officer that visited the American University of Beirut. My dad was offered admission by the dean of Wharton, who was a close friend of my my grandma’s bro. However, i dont think these connections will help me at all at dartmouth.

I am in love with dartmouth and I would really appreciate what you guys have to say with regards to what my chances are and how i can improve them. Thanks a bunch guys!

the sat scores, are indeed, low. the avg gpa for an incoming dart freshman is about a 3.75 unweighted. This is assuming that the student goes to a very competitive high school and has taken the maximum course load. You seem to fit this part of the profile accordingly. The good news for you is that Dartmouth places more of a value on extra curriculars/personal qualities than many people would lead you to believe. Your SAT scores should be at least 200 points higher, but beyond that you should have a chance.

thanks for your input. I surely am going to retake the SAT’s in November and am aiming for above a 2000
