Well…Isn’t it required by most colleges to have at least two years of foreign language? WashU requires two the last time I checked. So unless you have some excuse you can use…you may be messed up. I don’t know though, I’d call them to ask. And if you do have some excuse maybe put it in your additional info or somehow tie it into your essay

You are in otherwise.

They suggest 2 years foreign language, but I’m under the impression that they’ll consider your application regardless. I took fine arts instead (my school scheduling is set up such that it is impossible to have more than one elective without sacrificing in an academic area), and I am submitting an art supplement to my application.

i m in the same situation i took Latin 1 freshmen year and Japanese 4 (4 year high school equivalent) my sophmore year, because I’m trilingual (Chinese, Japanese and English)

I did take the SATIIs in Chinese and Japanese and got 800 on both, and I attached a sheet on my app that said I was independently studying at home, does that count?

^ I’d definitely call them- Wash. U admissions is extremely useful (and friendly).
