My chances

Due to a lot of factors I was unable to submit my application online and so I had to mail my application. My application arrived late as I am an international student. Every university apart from Princeton did not acknowledge my application or just said it’s too late. Princeton acknowledged my application and I had an interview (I understand interviews are common and like 99% of people have one).

The other aspects of my application - I received the 2nd highest diploma score in my schools history. Rank 2/160. Lots of extra curriculars - essay competitions, volunteering, internships, learning 2 languages, debate champion, model un, journalist in school paper. I’m the first to apply to an American uni so not sure how admissions work in all honesty. (And I guess if it’s relevant to my chances, I am the first child to attend uni, low income family and a minority).

So is the fact that they still accepted my application waaay after the deadline a good sign ? ) I always knew it was a shot in the dark but I’m just curious now.

Our experience with Princeton is that they are very understanding about extenuating circumstances which is likely the reason your application has been received and will be reviewed. I would encourage not reading more into it than that.
