Yeah, for the exception of your boards, you’re pretty solid. I would recommend retaking them, and also taking the ACT. Write a good essay and be cool.

Your SAT scores will make it difficult for you. Try to get either all of your scores in the 650+ range or if you have one weakness, others in at 700+. A low SAT score won’t necessarily keep you out of Chicago - up to a point. I believe the low end of the average SAT score at Chicago was a 1380 or around a 2070 in the new format. In the end it is your essays that will determine whether you can get in or not (I’m sure you’ll have excellent recommendations and you have excellent grades). A good interview will also help (don’t listen to other people around here who will tell you otherwise). If you can get the interviewer to advocate for you to the commitee it may be the thing that pushes you over. Remember - the essays can make or brake you. If you submit a creative, heartfelt, brilliant essay then you’ll be admitted. The admission board can tell if you try to recycle an essay from another college. Oh - and try to relax when you sit down to write. Pretend as though it isn’t one of the most important essays you’ve written, and approach it in a fun manner - as though it’s just another intellectual problem. Humor is appropriate so you don’t have to take the standard, formal, grim tone expected of you from other colleges. And remember - your essay doesn’t have to be as essay.

Also - if you have supplements to send them then send them. Every little thing helps. If you have creative, artistic, or scientific papers, drawings, stories, or poetry send it to them. Many people overlook that in their application package, and it shows your interest in Chicago - perhaps more than the typical applicant. Good luck.

It’s all in the essay.

I think you can get better SAT score. Let’s say, a 750 on math, a 600+ on reading, a 650 on writing - that will put your score over 2000.

What I am saying is pretty reasonable, isn’t it? Then, everthing comes down to the essay.

i was at chicago yesterday. Test scores are the 4th most important criteria to the admissions staff-

 1. Courses Taken/GPA
 2. Essays
 3. Recomendations
 4. Test Scores
 5. Extra Currics

I think not only Chicago, you have a great chance for Ivy leagues with your extracurricular stats.
