my chances...

im a junior and my GPA is a 3.3/4
i’m taking 2 AP classes, and the rest are all the second toughest offered in my school. i’m also talking academic electives, and Calculus as a junior, however, i think i have a C in the class, and it’s not AB or BC.
my ec’s are indian dancing, which i’ve been doing for about 6-7 years
piano lessons, which, again, i’ve been doing for about 6 years
i’m trying to teach myself guitar(don’t know if its important to be said or not)
im involved in about 3-4 clubs, and i plan on getting a job and doing some major volunteer work over the summer
my psat scores were about a 1700, but when i took the practice SAT at a course i got a 2025. i’ll be taking the real SATs in march.
and im a female from NJ and i plan on majoring in premed.

the colleges im thinkin about and wanna go to are:
University of California - Irvine
Boston University
Purdue
Rutgers
Northeastern

thanks!!

By second toughest I’m guessing you mean honors or regular classes, which in my opinion mean very little to colleges.

If you are in-state you are a match for UCI, and I think you have a decent chance at the others.

Depends on your SAT I and II scores, good luck!

hmm thanks!
im from NJ…so i dont really know about my UCI chances…but do you guys think i can get into BU??

how’d you get a 2025 on the prac sat. thought it was in 10’s. and if you’re out of state, it might be hard for uci but you still have a chance cuz its not that hard to get in. gl.

well the practice SAT i took was at a course, and it was out of 2400…
yeah thats what i’ve heard…i’ll try it though…thanks!!
i should be able to get into the other colleges though right?

i would realllly appreciate any opinions…
thanks in advance!

UCI: slight reach
Purdue/Rutgers/Northeastern/BU: reach

based on this info only.

thanks for the input!!
hmm so rutgers is a reach for me even though im in-state??

innersmile:

UCI: Reach (out of state)

okk thats what i thought…thanks though!
what about the other schools…like Boston University, Northeastern, Rutgers, and Purdue??

…anyone!!!..please!!!

You’ll need a high SAT score like your practice test to get into BU and Purdue, to offset your relatively low GPA. Rutgers and Northeastern will be easier, but I don’t know if they can be called safeties.

thanks!
well i had my college-match meeting with my guidance counselor the other day and she said i’m a strong match for Purdue and Northeastern…but i really want to get into BU, so do you think i can if i get SAT scores like 2000 even though i have such a low gpa?
