<p>I’m an Indian, female, junior in High School…I wanted to know what I could do to improve/“guarantee”(for lack of a better word) my chances for getting into a good coll. and also for some merit schol.s</p>

<p>Stats:
High School Cumulative GPA - 4.0
Honor Roll for Freshman, and Sophomore year
13 Honors and 2 AP Classes including Junior year
Currently taking French 4H, Pre-Calc H, Eng 11H, AP Computers, AP Chemistry, US History 2H
Don’t know my ranking, but estimating I’m in the top 15-20% in my class</p>

<p>Activities:
Varsity Tennis Team, Math League, Freshman Computer League, Varsity Debate Team, Asian Culture Club, French Honor Society, Junior Mentor for Connecticut’s FIRST Lego League Team, Sophomore Class Council, Sophomore Class Pep Rally Committee, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), High School Member of Women In Aerospace (WIA) organization, Fair Lawn High School Service Learning Program</p>

<p>I don’t know what type of school you are aiming for because a “good college” can be interpreted differently, but one weakness I do see is your SAT score. Your ECs and awards looks good, and diverse. </p>

<p>You seem to have pretty good stats as of now. The only major thing I see that is lacking is your SAT score.</p>

<p>You seem to have some very strong ECs and a fantastic GPA, but to be honest, your SAT score is a little weak if you’re looking to apply to a top 10 school. Think about retaking it. Raise that critical reading score to a 700. However, even without it, apply to UMich and UVA and UC-Berkeley (they’ll put more weight on your math stuff, and you won’t be harmed by affirmative action).</p>

<p>This summer, I’m hoping to secure a couple of part-time jobs(already have a summer program at UIllinois under my belt) and increase my leadership activities…</p>

<p>I want to major in Aerospace Engineering…So, I was looking at UIllinois @ Urbana-Champaign, GATech, VATech and the like…
Cost is also a major issue for me; so, I want to earn some merit based schol.s</p>
