what are my chances to…
Carnegie Mellon
Brandeis
Washu
Rice
Michigan St.
UIUC

btw i have 710 in SAT chem
gonna take bio and math
and 660 in CR, 720 in Math and 770 in W
What are my chances???

well, the IB Diploma is impressive, but your SATs are a little low… what are your Extracurriculars?

o and my higher level classes are math, bio and chem
i wana do premed

umm
bball, tennis, french club, recycling club, eye camp (helping out locals for glasses), volunteer work at hospital, gamers club, was tutor’s assistant but changed school from NJ, math awards, science award (2nd place in NY), string quartet,

B/B+ = 3.0-3.3 GPA

Very low.

even with the IB??

i think you have 50/50 chance…if you found a “hook” it would really help

IB isn’t all that impressive… The average IB GPA at my high school was well above that, and they all did very well on their exams.

I’d say Brandeis, WashU, and Rice are long shots. Specifically for Brandeis, there are scores of IB kids who are also international who had much better stats than that. I’m sure the same can be said for WashU and Rice. Is there time to bring your GPA up?

so… the chances at the other schools are also long shot?

my senior yr
yea… i can work like a dog and bring it up i think
