haha please chance me for any ivy league school(preferably stanford or columbia):)) thanks!

Your stats seem pretty good, but it would help if you listed more, as they’re not quite enough to chance you properly. The National Merit Finalist bit should help a lot. However, I don’t believe the Finalist letters have been sent out though–are you sure it’s not Finalist status pending?

Your GPA is excellent, and the leadership positions should help if the clubs are good ones (and we’re not talking crocheting club here). If your volunteering & clubs tie in with what you listed as your interest on your college apps, you should be fine.

Columbia: mid-high reach
Stanford: high reach (I say this because I know a lot of people who got screwed over in SCEA, hopefully RD is a bit more generous)

haha thanks guys!
and um ksarmand, I got a 224 on my PSAT and im pretty sure thats gonna be finalist(but wuldnt matter cuz colleges dont see any finalist) so i guess you can just count that as semi-finalist. plus, i think with my stats, I SHOULD be, like, lol the 98% of the people that get finalist.

um yeah, very good clubs(my parents advises me not to name the clubs. yeah kind of petty but sorry :/)I’m 100% sure colleges would deem it as “legitimate”.

um ksarmand, thanks for ur advise! but what more information are you looking for? like summer activities or something?

yeah I guess columbia is ok. but I’m aiming for Stanford(BIG REACH) lol yeah I know, seeing as a person in my school ranked 5/750 with siemens regional finalist got rejected and another 3/750 with USACHO top 20 national finalist also rejected…

Haha, as long as I’m like…60% chance of Columbia I’ll be ok lol.

Any more suggestions guys?Appreciated it alot :)

Stats look good, academically. It would help if you listed your sub scores for SAT, AP tests/scores, and volunteering experience more explicitly. You don’t have to say what clubs, but at least what area they were in.

I’d say every place but harvard, yale, and stanford you are sitting pretty well. Consider Northwestern.
what are you looking to go into?

awwww lol im actually looking at Harvard and Stanford, but I’d settle for Columbia
and Northwestern is an excellent school but after some kids from our school with horrible stats got in, I was like nayyyyy lol(no offense if anyone attends there, it’s still very strong school)

so my substats for SAT are:
800 Math
700 CR
750 Writing (9 on essay bleeeeh :[ )

o and if it helps my SAT 2 stats are
780 APUSH
790 Biology
720 Chemistry(took if right after Chemistry I)
780 Math I
790 Math II
800 Chinese

AP’s:
World History(5), APUSH(5), Biology(5), Psychology(5), English(4), Chinese(4), Computer Science(3), Spanish(3)
[forgot to include chinese on my very first post]

clubs:
one music, one honor, one english (founded all of them)

o and additional for volunteer here:
260 hrs library
215 environment
30+ school
100+ clubs

work: yard service, babysit, internship, restaurant

ANYONE WANNA CHANCE ME? :D

I don’t know if it’s really sound to judge the quality of an education based on what stats got accepted. Just sayin’, Northwestern’s a great school, and I don’t know if you really wanna apply to ONLY Ivies.
That said, I think you’ve got a good shot everywhere except Harvard and Yale.

On second thought, maybe your elitist attitude will keep you out of many of these schools :). “I’d settle for Columbia”–really?
