My chances

Alright so I applied to a good list of schools, as I want to have my options open, I just want your guys’ opinions on how you think this spring will turn out for me. I’ll go ahead and fill out some stuff below.

I applied to 15 in total.

Reaches (many) - MIT, Caltech, Stanford, Cornell, Columbia, Duke
More reasonable reaches - Tufts, Carnegie Mellon, Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley
Safeties - University of Miami, Uni of Florida, Rose Hulman, Georgia Tech

I’ve already been accepted to all 4 safety schools. I was deferred from MIT and Caltech. I had an interview for MIT, Columbia, Duke, Tufts, and Cmu.

Senior schedule:
[1st Semester] AP Art History, AP Eng Lit, AP Govt, AP Spanish lang, (Dual Enroll) Differential Equations, (Dual Enroll) Programming in C
[2nd Semester] AP Art, AP Eng, AP Microeconomics, AP Spanish, (Dual Enroll) Calculus III, (Dual Enroll) Matrix Theory

I’ve gotten straight A’s since after freshman… somehow got a B or two in 9th.

Any other stuff I should mention or explicate?

Thanks for your help!

bump to the top!

i assume ur doing comp sci or something tech?

Reaches:
MIT - waitlist, then accept
Caltech - waitlist, outcome either way
Stanford - deferr/reject
Cornell - accept/waitlist
Columbia - waitlist
Duke - idk
Tufts - accept
Carnegie Mellon - accept (but if comp sci it may be something harder - microsoft and google pretty much own that comp sci campus)
Harvey Mudd - idk
Johns Hopkins - waitlist/accept (harder to get into than perceived)
Berkeley - accept

u are obv. a math genius, but the CR and W on the SAT are lacking which pulls you down - if it was a 2200+ i would change those waitlists above to accepts

ur EC’s also show that you have only seem to stuck to school, and ur athletics didnt take you that far.

sorrry for being uber harshh (esp. when you see my chances forum if you decide to do so, i dont compare to you at all haha)

chance me?

Thanks mate for your feedback. I’ll definitely check yours out.

Oh and yes, my major will be electrical engineer/computer science

Caltech would be the best bet of you getting in in the “high reach” section. If you are super good at math, science, engineering areas, the weakness in fine arts and language won’t matter as much. Now in the other schools, it’s slightly different story.

bumpppppppp

Gee, I don’t know Caltech and MIT is possible with your Physics score. If you did not request financial aid, I am sure that you are in JHS.
