My Chanes for These Schools

I’ve drawn up my college list, and I wanted to know my chances for the schools on my list. [My test scores are targets. Some of them I have not taken yet or have not received scores for, but please think of them as my actual scores.] Can you just indicate which ones are reaches, safeties, and anything in between?

My profile:

My schools list:

You have absolutley no shot at any of the schools I really have no idea what you are contemplating??? I mean an ACT score of 34 is laughable…I’m just kidding, your head is probably about to explode after reading the latter portion of this post, youre stats are quite impressive and i think you have a very good chance at getting into one of your top 3 or 4 schools

Which one of those do you think are safeties and reaches for me? I know some of them are quite obvious. Can you guys recommend some more respectable safeties for me?

Dartmouth College [considering for ED]Biggest REach
Cornell University {the oddball, I know} [considering for ED]Reach
Brown University [considering for ED]Reach
Johns Hopkins UniversityMath-Reach
Tufts University Fit
Georgetown University Fit
Lehigh University Saftey
Boston University Big Saftey!!!
Penn State University Even Bigger!!!
Rutgers University Saftey
Brandeis University I havent even heard of this college so its obviously a major saftey

Are you serious on the Brandeis comment?
You cant even spell ‘safety’…

BU is only a safety if you’ve shown some kind of interest. They reject/WL a lot of people because they know they wont attend.

That website is so poor, admissionschances.com

Anybody else? Do you guys really think Dartmouth is a big reach? Looking at acceptance rates, I’d think Brown would be the biggest reach.

I don’t think dartmouth is the biggest reach at all.

Alright, that makes me feel better because I love Dartmouth.

Can people recommend some “fit” schools and some safeties?

Aren’t you pretty much guaranteed to get into Rutgers with those amazing scores? I don’t think you need any more safeties.

Dude, are you freaking kidding me about what you said about Brandeis??? LOL.

Brandeis is one of top 3 on his list…

Can someone rank these order of difficulty of getting in?

You’ll definitely get into Penn State University, Rutgers University, and Brandeis University.

The others are as follows (hardest to easiest), in my opinion:

Brown University - Picky picky picky. Looks for individual students, not just at numbers.
Cornell University - If for engineering
Dartmouth College
Johns Hopkins University - Harder if for premed or engineering
Georgetown University - Harder if for International relations
Tufts University - But you have to write good essays.

And these two are probably good safeties/matches for you:

Boston University
Lehigh University

It makes me happy to see that Dartmouth is not at the top. Since that is more and more becoming my first choice.

Anybody else?

tux- for more Match/Safeties consider George Washington U, William and Mary, Boston College, UIUC for engineering, Case Western

Good Luck

I was just at you hs today, NBTHS

Sorry but you have at least a 50% chance of getting into Dartmouth I was completely joking about the biggest reach, your in Dartmouth like stink on **** as long as you show individuality and write killer essays

Thanks guys, for boosting my confidence.

I took Brown off of my list. I’m not really too much of a fan, but I replaced with Columbia (Fu Foundation) SEAS. Would the same advice work for getting in there?
