My College Application

Hi, hope your well and safe!

I am filling out my common apps form for colleges now as it is my senior year.

Through high school, I made so many mistakes:

I failed two classes in the spring semester of my sophomore year, and one of them was for an honor code violation in English class.
I retook those classes over the summer to get credit back, and I successfully passed them.
I failed 3 more classes in the fall semester of my junior year, and one of them was for a serious honor code violation in an art class. I did not retake those classes.
I wasn’t allowed to continue in art anymore.
However, these honor code violations weren’t mentioned on my transcript. And I owned up to my mistakes to my teachers and counselor.

But, I have also accomplished somethings in high school. I took many classes with dual enrollment and got A’s in all those classes. And I started a Club with friends, which is very successful now. I also got some A’s and B’s through high school. My high school GPA is pretty stable, and my test scores are great.

I want to apply for Architecture as my major, for which I am developing an art portfolio now.

My question is, what should I do? I made so many mistakes, but can colleges overlook those mistakes, and still accept me? And should I pursue my passion to major in architecture?

Please help me out here, I’m so confused and scared.

What has your own guidance counselor advised?

Start with that.

You have 5 F grades on your transcript. Two for honor code issues. There is something gravely challenging in your life that led to those results. Whatever those problems are, are probably what you should be focused on now rather than college admission. You will need to be prepared to discuss them in your college applications.
Not having the violations appear on your transcript doesn’t matter. You failed two classes because of them, and you will need to explain what happened and what you learned and how you know that you will never do that thing again.

You may want to consider starting at the community college where you have been taking classes because you have been very successful there. Speak with a transfer advisor there about pathways from that CC to a degree program in architecture. That CC might have a pre-architecture major with guaranteed admission to a bachelor degree program for architecture.
