My college list

I’m a junior from Brooklyn and I’m trying to narrow down my college list. My SAT score is 730 for critical reading, 630 for math and 660 for writing, bringing it to a total of 2020. I might retake it to bring my writing score up but I’m otherwise satisfied. My GPA is a 3.7.
I have won multiple prestigious art awards including scholastic awards. I am a member of NHS and a volunteer for Mt Sinai hospital 2 hours a week doing graphic design for flyers. I am a lifeguard and take part in my local waterpolo team. I’m am also the scrabble club president in my school. I am planning on having a portfolio that would be considered competitive for schools like RISD, MICA, Pratt or SCAD, but I’m applying to liberal arts colleges because I don’t know exactly what I want to do with my life. I am looking for some feedback on my college list. If some of you could provide some it would be most helpful, thank you.

Reach:

Kenyon, Connecticut C, Vassar, Oberlin, Reed, Occidental, Pitzer and Bard

Match:

Skidmore, Denison, Sarah Lawrence, Hampshire and Clark U

Safety:

Goucher, Ohio Wesleyan, SUNY New Paltz

As you can probably tell, I’m looking for liberal arts colleges with really good art depts and that also have excellent academics as well. Financial aid is an issue for me although if I had to I could work as a lifeguard at the college’s pool, which I might end up doing anyway. I want a school that has around 2,000 students and under 1,000 is too small which is why New College of Florida and Bennington are not on the list. Whoever is so inclined to give me feedback, you would be much appreciated.

Looks like a well thought out list. You might ask if you can send in your portfolio to these school even if you don’t plan on studying art, just so they can see your talent (I think many of these schools would be interested). Good luck.

I agree with Happy. The only thing I would suggest is since you said financial aid is important, you might trade some slots on your reach list for you match list to increase the chances for aid in general. Good job of researching colleges.

Try the net price calculators on each school’s web site to get an idea of what kind of financial aid each school tends to give. Adjust reach/match/safety appropriately.
