My Community College doesn't offer the major I want to transfer into.

I want to be a teacher. The closest it offers is Early Childhood Education classes. Do I take those and hope for the best?

Are you trying to transfer to this community college or to another school?
As a general rule though, go where your major is. If your current college doesn’t have your major or offers a very weak program, transfer to a school that has exactly what you want. Don’t waste your money and time on something that isn’t a sure thing.

Go meet with the transfer advisor at your CC. That person can tell you which courses you should take in order to transfer into a teaching program. You also can look at your state’s certification requirements, and at the graduation requirements at the college/university you plan to transfer to, and get an idea of which courses at your CC will apply.

If you are interested in secondary education, you probably will need to have an academic major (chemistry, math, English, history, etc.) as well as the teaching courses, so you can concentrate on that major at the CC.

Since I want to major in Meteorology, I’m getting my math credits in a community college so that way I can be on track!
