My Cornell ED essay.

I figured, what better place to find somebody to help me determine if it’s Cornell-worthy than by getting help from people already admitted! I also need help cutting it down so I’d greatly appreciate it if someone could look it over.

I’m part of a tutoring service that pays me to look over college essays and I’m actually having a slow period so if you’d like I’d be more than happy to look it over.

PM me and I’ll send you my email! =]

Really?^ How’d you land that job? That sounds rather interesting.

Haha I actually had sub-par numbers for the schools I got into, and I was able to convince my principal that I did an exceptional job of filling out my applications and writing essays. She then allowed me to be on the counsel for current juniors (next year’s senior class) that every junior has to talk to before the end of the year. They basically show a plan for what colleges they’re applying to and the counsel helps them edit that list and other small things.

I started talking to a few students and their parents who were interested in my personally helping them over the summer. I also privately tutored a lot of kids already (both through the school and separate). I ended up scheduling a class where I help students go through their essays and applications and find schools to match them up with.

My school also has its own “Summer Writing Workshop” which I worked at the first 3 weeks of summer, where I was one of the teachers for groups of students where we just formulated general foundations for the different essays they had to write for different applications (although those focused primarily on the UC prompts).

Reason I’m on a slow period was I was on vacation last week so I don’t have any students until next week haha.

I do admit I love it very much and it’s a very fun way to pass summer by (not to mention some pretty good pocket money =D).
