Hey there,
here’s an international student, who needs a bit help.
In my school, my counselor is at the same time my math teacher, and some engineering schools require the first of two teacher recommendations to be from my math teacher. However, my counselor already has written a recommendation about me in the Secondary School report. Should my counselor then just copy the SSR from to the Teacher rec form?
Thanks

If your counselor sent his letter twice (same copy, no revisions), then the school may think that he may have forgotten to send one and is sending an additional just to make sure. Since he is your math teacher, and you need a recommendation from a math teacher, ask him to write another letter, which is more personal and focuses on you as a student.

Well, it was already hard to ask him about a recommendation, so i hardly doubt that he will give me another one.

Just explain the situation to the college and ask them if you should send a recc from a teacher of another subject or from a former math teacher. Don’t rely on anonymous message boards with possibly wrong advice from well meaning strangers when the question only can be accurately answered by the college where you’re applying.
