My Counselor told me HE SENT IT, but Colleges informed me they didnt get IT

my counselor told me, confirmed me that he sent all secondary school report and evaluation before X-Mas.
however two colleges informed me they didnt get them, and ask me to send again.
(however i was also heard that 2 other schools got them)

when i told this yesterday about this,
my counselor seemed to be kinda … upset or watever,
and saying “i already sent them all before christmas…”

what should i do?
(well… duh… -_-)

That’s a silly question, really. Go in there, and ask him to send them again.

The tactful way to handle this is to explain to your counselor that the colleges must have misplaced them, and to request that he send them (or fax if the school allows) again. This, actually, is probably what happened. Schools get so much material, they’re bound to misfile it sometimes.

If the material wasn’t labeled clearly, and maybe someone has a similar name (is your name unusual or common) and your stuff is in their file…thats possible…especially if the are in a rush, etc. Confirm to the counselour the other schools did get the papers, and got them on time, but these two just must be so overwhelmed, blah blah blah and you really appreciate the counselors time, etc. and bring in cookies!!

It could easily be the college - Case got inundated with EA apps and never did locate my son’s HS materials (sent in October - ironically the first application that his GC sent out that year). The HS faxed the materials - and we emailed for a confirmation that those were received.

citygirlsmom is right about the cookies.

It really is a pain. In my daughters case, one of the colleges reported online that they got her transcripts, but no teacher or counselor reccom. I know that they were sent together. I called the college, and the girl pretty much didn’t give me an answer, why don’t you wait a few days to see if it shows etc… (Its a state college, so I guess she can’t just walk over to a folder to see what was received). So I had my daughter go back to the high school counselor and fax the two items. A day after it was was faxed they updated it on the college website. Just make sure if they are going to fax anything that they put your social security # on the paperwork missing.
