I have a very good relationship with my guidance counselor. If I’m not her favorite student ever, I’m definitely her current favorite. My academics are relatively good (4.0 / top 3%, decent test scores, etc) but I may have an issue with my counselor’s letter of recommendation. She told me that she specifically addressed the school I applied for ED. Now, assuming I get rejected from my ED school, will her mentioning that institution in the recommendation greatly impact my chance of admission at other universities?

Would assume you are talking about the additional comments she can attach to the standard form… if that is the case, then it might make sense to ask her about modifying her school report and recommendation for the other schools. If has already been submitted with the reference to another school - then unfortunately, you are stuck. Hard to say what the impact is, but definitely won’t help!

Agree that if it is in the recommendation that went to all schools, that is a mistake on her part. I think you need to ask her what she means by that. Was the comment only in the version that went to the ED school? If not, I would ask her if it is possible for her to revise and resend.
