My daughter, as some of you might remember, is in her third year at Brown. She had a great week and I wanted to share it with my “friends.”

First, she found out (she came off the funding waiting list) that she received a research grant that she will use this summer to work with a professor. It carries a $3000 stipend, and she called me first
to tell me about it. I have rarely heard her so excited and happy. It was a tough application to write and she was really proud.

Second, she heard today that she was accepted into her department’s honors program and the toughest professor in the department agreed to be her adviser. At first he said no, because he didn’t think he’d have the time, but after reading her proposal he loved and and agreed.

I just wanted to share this good news. Thanks for letting me!
