She was asked if she wanted to remain on the wait list and she answered yes. She was also asked if she would accept being admitted in the spring, and again she answered yes.
If she were moved from the wait list to regular admissions in spring, would the same quantity and quality of financial aid be available to her in the spring time? Thank you.
Come on people, anyone?
I feel for you, but I don’t know about MH. I would think the financial aid would be the same. I do read many threads about wLs. I would encourage sending new info, if it includes a new award. Perhaps an added LOR. Some show of enthusiasm.
What are your DD’s other choices? Would MH accept credits from another college, e.g. as local CC?
OP, with all respect, you have to give people more than 10 minutes to answer.
If your daughter is getting need-based aid, then the amount would be the same no matter when she starts. MHC meets full need. They are not going to “gap” you.
Call your MH admissions counselor or the financial aid office - they should be able to provide an answer for you.
Have your GC call the regional admissions rep to get feedback on your D’s application They will most likely tell the GC concerns that they have. Your D should definitely send a letter of continued interest, an updated report card/ progress report, any new awards that she has received a perhaps an updated or a new recommendation ( you would be surprised at how many recommendation letters ate a disservice to the student and the student would be better off without them).
Wait, won’t she know by this fall whether she is admitted for the spring? If so, then you don’t need to know about the aid package now. If she is lucky enough to be offered admission, then you can evaluate the aid package you’re offered at that time.
You should also find out from MH (not from us) what she is and is not allowed to do in the fall if she elects to go for a spring admit. Good luck to her!
Calling a MHC admissions counselor is not a possibility now. They are not taking calls and we don’t want to annoy. That’s why I am asking here.
The wait list files were given to a special wait list counselor.
We sent supplemental info - updated grade report and a letter from a professor from a local state college. She’s taking a course there.
Letter from a GC? I wouldn’t trust her with the task of writing.
Staceyneail answered my question.
If anyone has any MHC specific wait list advice, I am all ears.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Hope this helps - their explanation of “why” they have Spring admits, as well as what students can do in the Fall. A good friend of my D’s was a Spring Admit, and she is doing great.
Wow! That is quite a comprehensive explanation and range of options.
You don’t need to call the admissions counselors. You need to call the financial aid department. Not all “full needs” schools make the same promise for wait-list, spring admits or international. Their website doesn’t talk about financial aid for wait-list and spring admits.
Mount Holyoke accepted 4 kids off the wait-list for fall last year and expect to admit 50-60 for Spring. Their answer to whether Spring admits get full needs met might depend on how much they have left after decisions are in.
My D is in the same situation.
I would find another school.
I do agree with Zinhead. Sure, put in the paper work at Mount Holyoke if it’s her favorite but chances are still slim and might not be worth the energy. Focus on getting excited for the alternative. Put down a deposit by May 1st or whatever that due date for the school is. If Mount Holyoke comes through over the summer that’s nice but your kid will hopefully be getting ramped up for her next choice.
One of D’s friends was a spring admit. It all worked out well, she attended the Laurel parade and other grad. week activities with her friends, she just graduated after the following fall. Did not hinder he post-college prospects in the least.
She has many schools. She is quite excited about two others.
