MILR Cornell Interview:*

I applied to Cornell - MILR ( master of industial and labor relation ) program and I was invited for interview. I thought of sharing the questions with you in case someone needs to prepare for it.

General*thoughts: I believe the interview was professional and structured. The interview focused on behavioral interview type in which you expect to have questions like “give me an example of a time”. Therefore, you need to prepare yourself with excellent examples about your past achievements and behaviors.

The interview was conducted by one of the program’s alumni through Skype. He was writing my answers to report it to the admission committee. The interview took around 30 minutes. At the end, he gave me time to ask him related questions.*

The Interview Questions: ( not in order )*

1- tell me about your background, you can start by talking about*your education and experience

2- *why ILR?

3- can you give me a time when you led a team?

4- can you give me an example of a challenge that you had?

5- tell me about a time when you influenced people?*

6- describe yourself in three words based on your supervisors views?

7- why do you want to leave employment and purse your master degree?

8- what concentration in MILR program you are looking for?

9- describe your leadership style?

10- give me an example if a time when you coached? ( this question was based on one of my answers regarding my leadership style )
