my daughters have been home all of three days from college - Both are missing their friends/boyfriends and the activity of college-constantly on their phones. Their stuff has exploded all over the house, the noise level has risen drastically. My oldest seems totally stressed and cant relax.

I love seeing them, and I expected an adjustment on all our parts, but they seem so strung up and less than happy to be home. I’m biting my tongue and hiding out on occassion in my room. The dogs are even hiding… They fight with one another, telephone agruments with their boyfriends… tears, snide remarks, etc. Its like when they were toddlers and got too wound up and couldnt go to sleep EVEN when they needed it desperately. As a mom you had to enforce nap time and help them to wind down.

These are normally sweet kids who occassionally bicker, but oh the drama right now! One is like chicken little, The sky is falling! The other is like a feral cat, Hiss!

So when my eye twitching slows down I am going to strategize a chill plan. For now I’m hiding out at work! :)

How goes it with the rest of you and your child’s rentry into the reality of home?
