'My Future, My Choice' $1,000 Scholarship: If You Could Pick Any College, Which Would You Pick and Why?

If I had the chance to choose any college, I would pick Tufts University, especially because of the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. Tufts focuses not just on dietetics, but also on public health nutrition, food policy, and global malnutrition, areas I’m deeply passionate about as someone coming from a place where nutrition challenges are very real. I want to study in a school that encourages using nutrition to solve community problems, and Tufts feels like the perfect place to turn that passion into meaningful action.

If I had to pick the college I would attend it would be Ferrum College. I am currently going there and would not change a thing. I am pursuing a Computer science programming degree while minoring in business. The college is absolutely beautiful and people around campus are nice. It feels like home away from home. I am currently on the softball team as well and the atmosphere is just like no other. I remember my first visit to Ferrum after attending a few other colleges and it felt different. There is no other way to describe Ferrum College, it will always and forever be home.

If I could pick any college, I would pick Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. For starters, this has been my top school for five years now and I plan on attending in the fall of 2026. I took an interest to the school when one of my friend’s cousins told me all about how amazing the campus was and then proceeded to show me pictures from her experiences. I went to their spring preview day to finally tour the school I had been dreaming of and it way surpassed my expectations. The campus is beautiful and well maintained, especially in the fall time when all of the leaves have gold and red hues. The area is full of small hills, which adds a nice touch to the scenery. Also, the school has everything a student could possibly need when living on campus. The school is big, but it doesn’t have too many people. This allows for their professors to be able to get to know their students because it is a 16 to 1 ratio in the classes. Also, the students, faculty, and professors are all amazingly sweet and they are extremely helpful. I know that they are all there to do anything to help their students be successful and to help them find themselves at home. Which is my next point, the campus has a nice warm feeling to it. As soon as I walked onto the campus, I felt comfortable and at home. All of these qualities model what a college should feel and be like.

If I would to choose any college, I would love to attend UCLA. For the past multiple years and since I was little, it has always been my dream school. I love this school because of their campus and their campus culture. When I visited, the students were so lively and it showed a tight knit community. When I was little, I wanted to go because my parents and my relatives attended and I automatically fell in love. Now, when I am finally applying to college, I love this school because of the variety of clubs and programs that they have to offer. Their health program is such a innovative place with so much opportunities. This school is perfect because it is far away from home to enjoy the college experience, and it is close enough to visit my family and drive back in less than two hours.

I would go to Colby College in Maine. I love the location because I love nature and skiing. I know that I could get a very good education there because they have lots of career opportunities. I like how small the classes are because I am able to build connections with my teachers, something that is very important to me. I also love the community feeling that Colby College has.

If I could choose any college to attend, I would attend the University of New Hampshire’s main campus, in Durham NH. Walking through the streets of Durham on my tour was an experience I could have never prepared myself for. The University of New Hampshire had always been an idea for me, but after I toured it, the university quickly became my number one school. The atmosphere felt like I was right at home, and the beautiful libraries sent me over the edge. For once in my life I could truly imagine myself somewhere.

The ample amounts of activities and clubs excited me, because I knew I would never be bored here. The educational centers speak for themselves, because of how amazing they are. Everyone just looked happy and I hope I get the chance to be as happy as they are by going here!

The college of health and human services is by far my favorite, because It is the educational program I am most interested in. From what I have seen this building is beautiful, and has great professors that will help anyone at any given moment.

Choosing the University of New Hampshire seems like choosing the right option. Activities, research and educational opportunities, and great campus life is anything anyone could ask for in a college.

If I could pick i would choose uci as i personally saw it not only as a dream school but also a pathway to the medical field.

If I were to pick any college it would be CU Boulder. I would pick this college because their music program is really well funded and have many opportunities for musical artist in any genre. I also want to join for the community, there are many cafes and clubs that you can go to and join, find new people and grow as a person. They also have great advisors helping with navigating two degrees and getting me to graduation as quickly as I can.

If I had to pick any college, I would choose North Carolina Agricultural and Technical state university (NCAT) for its culture and history as an HBCU, as well as its high excellence for education.

I could learn more about my history and about all the wonderful individuals that came before me that would hopefully inspire me to be better and do better. As an HBCU, NCAT is heavily focused on academics, with acceptance rates as low as 46% and with high standardized test score requirements, demanding both effort and dedication for acceptance.

Chamberlain University is my top choice as a college! The University is full of staff and students who are very supportive of one another. The professors are very helpful and will do anything to help a student succeed in college as well as life!

If I could go to any college I would choose to go to Howard University. Howard is an HBCU that is so full of diversity and overflowing not only with African American culture but with multiple others. Given my ethnic background as an African, I believe I would have been a great fit for that environment and vice versa. On top of that, it is an academically striking institution where very important figures of our world have been brought up through. With my interest in healthcare and specifically nursing, I believe their program would have shaped me to be an outstanding RN!

If I had opportunity to attend any college, I would choose Career Networks Institute (CNI College), specifically the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. What draws me to CNI is its strong focus on healthcare specialities and its commitment to preparing students for real, hands-on work in the field. As an older adult returning to school after many years, CNI’s accelerated pathway is especially meaningful to me. It offers a shortened yet rigorous route to complete my studies, gain clinical experience, and transition into the workforce efficiently after licensure.

This decision represents more than just earning a degree. It is a long-awaited continuation of my educational journey since my previous graduation. I am choosing to retool myself so that I can build a stable and future-proof career. I believe that CNI’s cirriculum, with its emphasis on both technical skills and ethical practice, will prepare me to become a competent, professional, and ethical Registered Nurse who can serve the patients with integrity and compassion.

Most importantly, I want to set a strong example for my two young children, ages seven and three. I hope they will see that learning never steps, that it is never too late to pursue new skills, and that dedication to personal growth benefits not only oneself but the entire family. By choosing CNI College’s BSN program, I am investing in a path that allows me to support my family, contribute meaningfully to my community, and show my children the value of resilience and purpose.

If I could pick any college to go to it would definitely be Stanbridge University. Only recently I realized that i wanted to be a nurse and go into nursing school. I always thought, “Nursing school is so long and difficult.” It wasn’t until speaking with my Grandma where that mindset turned around for me. My Grandma is my biggest inspiration and always believed in me when I could barely believe in myself. I have always been so hard on myself and that was part of the reason why I was so scared to go into nursing school. I didn’t want to disappoint myself. But, after hearing my Grandma’s inspirational words, coming from someone also in the healthcare field, I realized that if she thinks I can do it, then I better do it. Stanbridge has the best of the best professors with the best of the best learning tools. I feel like Stanbridge is the best way I can be the best nurse I can be to not only make my grandma and family proud being the first college graduate, but also myself.

I would pick MIT because I have always dreamed of going there due to its collaborative community and quirks. I would want to participate in exclusive events there like the Puzzle Hunt each year. Meeting people and making connections with the most innovative young leaders would be great as well.

If I could choose to go to any college, I would go to Duke University. Not only is it my English name, Duke, but it also has a good pre-law program, and they have a great ROTC program.

If I could pick any college to attend, I would pick The University of Texas at Austin. This is in the area where I grew up, and the college has a beautiful campus and it is located in the most entertaining place. There are countless shops and activities with the prettiest scenery. From walking in town lake to finding new bakery’s, downtown Austin has all of the best activities. And on top of all that, the academics are just as amazing as the school spirit and football. If I go here, I know that I could get an amazing education that could help me prepare myself for the future. The University of Texas creates hardworking students that get real jobs which is exactly what I want.

If I could pick any college in the world, I would pick the University of Chicago. It has a great history program, and I could get my Master’s in Library and Information Science degree. Chicago is a great place and has incredibly rich history connected to it. It would also be the perfect distance to visit my family over the holidays, or ride the train to the East coast. Chicago is the best place for me to expand my horizons and experience different cultures that I don’t have the opportunity to in North Dakota.

I would attend UCLA for its top pre-med research opportunities and resources, and its proximity.
