Follow your heart.

It may sound (extremely) corny, but it’s true.
Follow your passions.

Er, be brilliant and more.

Stay away from vodka-redbull the day before doing the SAT. You may consume the same beverage before interview though. Abundantly.

ok, dont mean to burst bubbles, as i too have the same dream, but don’t count on it. aim for harvard but be ready to settle for less. afterall, harvard is extremely competitive as you know by now…so yeah aim high, settle for less is my optimistic/pessimistic outlook = )

I think CAL is correct. Do everything you can to show admins that you are a good candidate for the class of 20XX. Prepare for it as if it were a job. And let me say that you need to think of Harvard (or any school for that matter) as a stepping stone to your fututre. What will attending Harvard allow you to do and likewise, what will you do for the Harvard name/reputation should you be admitted. I think everyone recognizes the significance of a good education. Harvard is one of many schools in the world that can provide you with that. So, you MUST be prepared to complete admissions forms for a handfull of schools which fit you. When you have done your best and the results of your EA decision come in, the you make your next move. If you get in, prepare yourself for it. If you don’t get in move to the next option with the same degree of enthusiasm so that you can present yourself as one of the best available candidates. If we assume that all applicants for a school like Harvard are QUALIFIED then the odds are about 10% that you’ll get in. Those are tough odds, no matter what you do, that’s a 90% chance that you won’t get in. A person without a backup plan would be foolish. Good Luck…

I think corporatefinance offers the best advice.
