My Governor the sleaze bag

How do we know that he has practiced “unsafe” sex during an episode in question ? :-)

“Oh common.
We are indeed very puritan :-)”

There is nothing puritan about it and you are showing real ignorance. What do you know of organized crime?

“How do we know that he has practiced “unsafe” sex during an episode in question ? :-)”

Where did I say that?

Ha! Unsafe sex is a crime these days? Where? In Utah? And is Spitzer being charged with “organized crime?” Maybe he should get 5 years for “hypocrisy.” “We the jury find the accused guilty of hypocrisy, unsafe sex, and organized crime.” He had sex with a prostitute last time I checked. Clinton commited perjury and obstruction of justice.

All in all I guess it’s clear that Spitzer should have lied because apparently those are not grounds for removal from office. If only he had the “wisdom” that Bill posessed.

Kelowna, an affair is NOT illegal. Prostitution, money laundering, wire fraud, etc. ARE illegal.

“Ha! Unsafe sex is a crime these days? Where?”
Who said that sweetie? Who besides you?

Did that slip past you?

Kelowna, the prostitute stated that he asked for services that would be considered unsafe. Don’t know if she complied or not.

The “unsafe sex” is discussed in the complaint. (And it’s not the kind that transmits diseases, BTW).

Didn’t Clinton have unsafe sex!? Why isn’t he being impeached! Oh yes, because he lied about it so it’s all ok. Maybe Spitzer should have taken a note out of Bill’s playbook…

LaxAttack09 you need to calm down a little bit. You’re babbling. Clinton was impeached. Did you miss that?

He wasn’t removed from office…something I’ve heard everybody, on both sides of the aisle, scream about for Spitzer. I just find it funny that a President can commit a felony and get away with a slap on the wrist but when a governor does it everybody wants blood/justice.

This is obviously above your head.

I live in a world of facts zooser…you live in a world where people should be punished because they are being hypocrits. Try telling that to a jury, see where it gets you

Heck, lawyers do this all the time – we hire out of town wh*res as expert witnesses.

Agree.
Would prefer this to be a prostitute and not a friend if it was concerning my husband. Legal or not
Is he charged with money laundering? Or is it an automatic ?

“I live in a world of facts zooser”

The hysterical, !!!-laden posts show otherwise, and if you can’t comprehend the difference between money-laundering and consensual sex, then this really is above your head.

LaxAttack: Where did you get the impression that Clinton got a free pass? He faced impeachment, he paid millions of dollars of legal fees from private funds, his second term as President crashed and burned, and his most enduring legacy is probably his responsibility for the election of the least competent President in the history of the Republic. The volume of anger Clinton faced all across the political spectrum makes it look like Spitzer is getting off easy. And Clinton didn’t commit any crimes, except political ones, at least until his opponents engineered a perjury trap for him (always the last resort of desperate, unethical prosecutors).

It’s obvious that a lot of the response to Spitzer stems from the fact that he has been a bullying, self-satisfied, sanctimonious [you-know-what] for his entire career. Policywise, he’s my kind of guy, but I am gleeful to see his political career comee to a juddering halt.

I’ve been thinking about the contrast between NY’s governor and Pennsylvania’s. Ed Rendell began his political career as a DA, but there has never been a sanctimonious bone in his body, and purity has never been remotely part of his package. He has done an incredible job of constructing a political persona to fit who he is: someone who eats too much, drives too fast, watches too much sports, makes too many deals, rewards too many friends, and [you-know-what]s too much, too. He also gets stuff done and has a good track record of making certain that the friends he’s rewarding are highly competent. If something like this happened to him, tongues would cluck and eyes would roll, but it would go on a long list of “Ed being Ed” pecadillos. (You would probably need more than your fingers to count the women with whom he’s been rumored to be involved while in public life. I’m sure his wife has felt humiliated along the way, but she’s made her peace with it by now, and she seems to like her lifetime appointment as a federal appellate judge.)

Spitzer? He’s a hypocrite.

“Is he charged with money laundering? Or is it an automatic ?”

Not charged with anything yet, so who knows?

You think I’m talking about Clinton’s sex life? Ha, wow! I’m talking about the perjury and obstruction of justice he commited. I didn’t think I had to lay that out, figured it was assumed but I’m sadly mistaken.

I think it’s funny that you’re OK with a pres commiting a felony (perjury/OOJ) but not for a governor :)
