My GPA is really skewed, how will it affect me?

<p>My GPA is 3.6, however if you calculate my GPA for math and science courses it is 4.0 and for language and history it is 3.3. Will this negatively or positively impact my application? I’m going to be a premed/chemistry major.</p>

<p>Your gpa is not the only thing they look at. They will review your SAT/ACT. How many APs and their scores. Your class rank.</p>

<p>Your question can’t be answered in a vacuum Oriel. How much it may “hurt” you depends on what you’re chasing after. At many schools, you’ll be extremely competitive and highly sought after. At some others, you’ll be vying for spots against kids who have top GPAs in both areas. Obviously, you’ll be at a disadvantage at those.</p>

<p>I agree with T26E4, if you perhaps list a series of colleges that you are considering, we will better be able to help you gauging your chances based on the selectivity of the schools.</p>

<p>SAT is 2320, Extracurriculars are slightly above average</p>
