I am currently a sophomore and i really want to get into the Drexel BA/MD program. But under their admissions requirements , it says that “applicants must have ranked in the top 10 percent of their graduating class (if applicable)”. Now , my school only has 42 kids per grade, so we don’t rank.Does this mean i can’t get in?

No. It says “applicants must have ranked in top 10% of their graduating class (if applicable)”

Your school doesn’t rank. Therefore, that requirement is not applicable to you. They will judge you on other criteria that is available.

Usually high schools have a fact sheet that they send to colleges with your application. It will have average GPA by decile or quintile, so schools will know where you are relative to your class.

I would ask your GC about this. For a class of 42–especially if it’s a private school, top 10% isn’t very meaningful.

The “(if applicable)” part of that sentence is for students like you. If you don’t rank, you were never applicable to be in top 10%. Yours will be considered a special circumstance, so they will probably consider your GPA and other things with a heavier weight.
