I’m having an interview with a prep school tomorrow. Last year, my interviewer from a different school asked me this question, but my response wasn’t very strong. I said that it was a new environment, but I wanted to add more to that. How can I improve my answer this time?
Think of the question as one which is really asking, “You’d be so far from home. Do you think you can comfortably acclimate to a new living and learning environment, the rigors of prep academy life and being away from your family and friends? Tell me something which makes me think you’re ready for that.”
Here is how I would handle it:
- I love new environments, and new challenges.
- I enjoy meeting new people and learning about new cultures
- Moving to the east coast [to the area of the school] would definitely be better to achieve these goals than staying at my current school
