My dear cat, 12 years old, seems to have a few new lumps since last week. Ever since we got her spayed, she’s always been saggy. But the lump under her belly is farther forward and almost under her rib cage.

She also a lump around her neck. These lumps are not hard, but do you have any idea what we’re dealing with?

One of my senior citizen cats has lumps on his tail and where his tail meets his body. The vet called them cysts and said to just keep an eye on them. It looks like cats on rare occasions do get lipomas, which are fat deposits that can be left alone if they don’t grow so large that they press on organs or cause discomfort. So your cat’s lumps may be harmless, but I’d see the vet promptly if I were you.

My cat had a lump on her neck last year. We turned out to be a cyst (vet-diagnosed). Our vet removed it later during another procedure. I’d have the lumps checked out just to make sure all’s well.
