I was planning on applying to colleges that are like top 50 thinking that I was going to score above 1300. But, I actually got around 1030 and my previous score was 1040. I am a Posse scholarship finalist and does this really affect my chances of getting the scholarship? Is it really bad when scores decrease?
I don’t know anything about the Posse scholarship.
An issue is whether you are applying to schools for which 1030 or 1040 is low or for which 1030 or 1040 is “in range”. I would have thought that 1040 is quite low for any top 100 university.
Did you do some SAT preparation between your two times that you took the test? If so then how much and what sort?
Yes, I did. I scored around 1300 when I did the practice exams. I don’t know what happened to me.
Do you have anxiety problem? Did you time your practice test? A >250 gap in score is very uncommon.
I timed everything, I did many practice exams and I thought that the test was easier. I am very disappointed and I was very normal during the exam. I am scared if this will affect my scholarship.
