<p>First off, bless you for being brave enough to enter - I’m telling you, this essay is terribly boring.</p>
<p>The prompt: </p>
<p>In an election year, we are exposed to a wide range of viewpoints in speeches and editorials. What’s your editorial? Write an essay making the case for an issue about which you are particularly passionate. Remember: a good editorial is validated by facts, and the sources of those facts should be noted. An editorial composed of unsupported claims or unsubstantiated facts will be considered a weak argument.</p>
<p>My first question is about word count. The application says 400 words. My essay is 480 words (without the support) and 566 words with the support (basically a list of websites I got my facts from). Is this acceptable or should I be doing some chopping?</p>
<p>My second question is, why, Ohio State, why? <em>sobs</em> My essay is basically an editorial and it tells NOTHING about my personality except that I’m concerned about the topic of my editorial. It is honestly very boring. I don’t know if this is what they want or not, but this is all I have. </p>
<p>Third, anyone willing to read this monstrosity? Be aware, the subject matter may cause a rise in blood pressure if you’re prone to that sort of thing. It’s about terrorism and it’s going to need a reader who will not explode at the fact that I’ve tried to be neutral. I need a grammar, spelling, flow check and I need to know if this is really what they want. A non-09er please. :)</p>
