Not too long ago I saved up 8 grand and put it on a car note. I didn’t want to do it because I’m at a community college and I want to transfer to LSU in the Fall. My parents promised me that I could get a car note and that they’ll help me pay it off when I go to school. I really want to go to LSU so I was hesitant to agree, but I did. Now they’re backing off that promise and I’m left paying for this car note alone and now it’s going to be though for me to go to LSU. So now I’m trying to find a way to pay as little as possible to still be able to go. I have a 3.75 GPA and I told them that I could get a discount for car insurance because of my good grade, but just my luck I’m not eligible for it because I’m an excluded driver. They said they’re not going to put me on the policy because it will cost them a fortune. Is there anything I can do? I’ve saved up some money and I could be eligible for schalorships but I’m afraid that won’t be enough.

With good grades and if you qualify for need-based aid, you may be alright. Don’t guess. Make the application and see what financial aid is offered. Your situation sounds like a tough one but also one that will lead you to more independence as you solve it. Good luck to you.
