<p>America again proves that a person’s color is immaterial. I can not imagine in any other country in the world, that a minority candidate could be allowed to lead the country. Even progressive so called Europe does not allow this to happen. We should be grateful that we live in USA. It is so wonderful to live in this historical time.</p>
<p>Yes, but plenty of women have been “allowed” to lead countries. Think Margaret Thatcher for one. </p>
<p>If the United States is prepared to put an African American in the White house remains to be seen. It seems that plenty of good ol’ liberals are determined to deprive the country of that possibility. Fwiw, it may be easier to vote a minority into the White House from the Republican Party. Who knows, McCain might all surprise us.</p>

<p>If voters elect MCCain over Obama then it will be voters wish. At least we are not fighting war over who leads the country. But my guess is that beacuse of economy, many young generation will support Democrat over Republican. Time will only tell. But this is a historical night. I hope Hillary supporters willnow support Obama against McCain. :)</p>

<p>Except if you were reading paragraphs out of order (like me) and got to the NOT part too soon, I really thought you were looking forward to the presidential election. Once I reread it after my first response, I caught it.</p>
<p>There are still rumblings from some quarters about an Obama/Clinton ticket—or vice-versa. The prevailing wisdom on that front is that such a ticket would be an immovable force, and that McCain wouldn’t stand a chance against it. I don’t think Hillary would go for a VP spot. I know Bill wouldn’t go for it.</p>
<p>One thing is for sure: unless the Democrats come together by the end of the convention, they are toast against McCain, no matter who wins the nomination.</p>
