My PSAT Scores and SAT advice?

Hi everyone!

Ok, heres the scoop.

I recently just received my PSAT scores which are
Critical Reading : 51 - 63%
Mathematics : 53 - 66%
Writing Skills : 54 - 77%
Section index : 158 - 70% of Juniors

So my question is, what is the value/rank of my PSAT scores for a student who is striving for admission in UC’s. I don’t want to ask a cliche “are my scores good?” primarily because it’s subjective, but like I said, as a student striving for those type of schools, how do I stack against my peers? Also, how would I convert those scores to the SAT scores?

Another question is about the SAT. I am currently enrolled in two AP classes which means I plan on taking the AP exams in May. As a junior, I also plan on taking the SAT.
The SAT dates available are
-Mar 14
-May 2
-Jun 6
My predicament is, when should I take the SAT? I personally feel as if Mar 14 is too soon for someone who has not yet prepared, and I don’t want to mix it with AP exams, so i’m leaning towards Jun 6.
Good idea? Any advice?
Thanks in advanced.

The scores scale pretty directly. Multiply each score by 10 for your estimated section scores. Multiply your selection index by 10 to get your estimated total score. You’re estimated to get around a 1580 on the SAT. And in terms of how well you stack up against your peers, the percentiles tell you. The 70 percent tells you that you scored better than 70 percent of the college-bound juniors that took the PSAT last year. For the UCs, I don’t think these scores are great, but it depends on what UCs you are applying to. Cal and UCLA are really competitive, but Merced and UCSC might be easier. Also, make sure you look at the CSUs, which are a bit easier to get into, but generally very good.

Bump

June 6 is a good idea since it will give you a little time to prepare. Writing section is usually the quickest and easiest to improve.
