My Recommendation to Princeton was sent to Yale...

I just found out that I sent the wrong teacher’s Recommendation to Yale…what are my chances now…

gutted. :(

on a more serious note, just call them and ask them how you could amend the mishap. they’l be kind enough to do it. but pray your file hasnt already gone for consideration. cos if it has, its the shiznit. i had a similar problem last year, my essays last few words didnt gets attached for some crappy reason. they were more than willing to change it for me, i just mailed the new docs in. but then again they only did it cos my papers hadnt gone in for consideration up until then.

all the best. x

Let Y admissions know in writing. Then have the correct one faxed over, if possible, and be on the phone with the person receiving the fax, in real time. Ask them to file the correct letter and destroy the wrong one while you are on the phone. Short of this, if they won’t receive the fax rec and insist on snail mail/sealed envelope, call once you know the correct letter must have been received. Ask them to replace and destroy as above.

Or if you’re really bold you could ask them to forward the P letter over to P, but that’s a bit of a risk

They want to read your correct file, mahedonist, not look for a reason to boot you.

The person filing these things won’t be evaluating your application. They may laugh at you, but it won’t impact your chances!

Why gutted? Mistakes happen. Yale is mature enough to know that many of their applicants (certainly the most viable ones) would also cross apply to a fine college like Princeton. No blood, no foul.

i submitted mine 30 mins before the deadline, and havent gotten an Eli Account yet…thank you for ur kind words…what u meant u had the same prob last year, are you in Yale now?

…m inconsolable.

i’ll see what i can do,but thx to all for ur words…

take riverrunner’s advice…I’m sure someone will be around in the morning. It isn’t tragic. They don’t get the applications and start reading them right away. It’ll be fine…a nice recommendation is still a nice recommendation, and they KNOW most of you guys are applying to all the ivies…they’re aware.

yes i shall…made countless mistakes during the application process…

Good. Now, think about something else for the night! It’ll be all right.

I assume you didn’t send it online?

thx poetgirl=)
