My dad is a BC alumni… hopefully that will help (does it?). He graduated at the top of the Business school and finished 3rd in the nation on the CPA exam (if BC will look back at his records…if they still exist…and take his success there into account)

Small chance I’m sorry GPA and SAT are too weak.

You have a decent chance with the legacy and good AP scores.

OP:
How about if you take a look at the BC factbook (around page 32)
http://www.bc.edu/publications/factbook/meta-elements/pdf/08-09/08-09_fact_book.pdf</a>
to see where you think your application stands.

Raw SAT and ACT scores aren’t everything, but at least you’ll be able to see where your stats fall and the percentage of students accepted with similar stats.

SATs: 25th%-tile (bad)
GPA: 3.5 UW - BC doesn’t list GPA breakdown but I’d guess you are <=50th%-tile (fair)
Rank: Top 25% = Good
ECs: Average (fair)
Community Service: Low for BC (bad)
Other: Strong APs (good)
Other: Legacy - Though your father’s performance is irrelevant, unless it’s translated into substantial giving to BC (good)

Summary: A reach. Legacy may help, but its “power” is typically highest if you apply EA.
