My roommate won't stop sighing out loud

It really gets on my nerves and makes me sad, too. I know he’s really stressed out about classes so I don’t really want to confront him about it. I just wish he would sigh to himself, like I do. What should I do? I don’t stay out of my room or listen to music for an entire day.

oh christ really?

You really need to read the CC threads about the horrible, smelly, dirty, stealing, inconsiderate roommates to give you some perspective.
Cut him a break.
Block it out of your mind.
and breathe…

come on guys this has to be sarcasm. it is like the most stereotypical cc post ever

Dude I know how annoying it is! My roommate would do the same thing! She was always in a crisis about wanting to get married, her grades, trying to take time off of school to elope, wanting a baby, etc. She was a nutcase.

But she’d always just sit there sighing really loud. It would seriously drive me insane. I used to imitate her even louder, but she never noticed. Sometimes I’d turn around and be like “Is there something wrong?”. But I really don’t think she ever realized what she was doing. I would just leave the room. I couldn’t handle all the negative energy and whining. But trust me, I wanted to punch her in the face.

Confront, or continue to implicitly permit it.

■■■■■. I have the exact same problem. I think my roommate sighs because I stay in the room a lot, so she wants me to ■■■■. Too bad, I’m not budging. Well… if it does bother you (like it does for me), I do think that blocking out the sound by listening to music is the easiest fix.
