My SAT Score

I am a high school senior and I am going to be taking the SAT for the 2nd and last time in January.

These were the breakdowns of my scores:

I am going to be taking a prep course with a local tutor, it’s her business so I know I will be getting my money’s worth. On top of this course though I’d like to work on my weaknesses so if you all at CC could tell me the best resources to work on my individual weaknesses that you can see in the images above I would really appreciate it!

SAT tutors are an utter waste of money with the possible exception of SAT essay tutoring. Everything that your tutor will tell you and far more can be found in a $15.00 Barron’s or Princeton Review book.

Well for one, you need to study vocab. 4/19 on SC isn’t very good.

midas222: I am really only going to her for Critical Reading and Writing, my math score is well with the range of the schools I am applying to.

anxiousforscore: …I got 15/19 on sentence completion…

The books that helped me the most:

 1. Barron’s “Aiming for the perfect score” for CR strategies. Also you can read sticky threads on this forum by Xiggi and Silverturtle.
 2. “Direct Hits” both volumes for the vocabulary. (It helps you to get all SC correctly)
 3. McGraw Hill for Writing.
