I recently recieved my SAT scores back and i got a score of 1790 which is so strange because on my first SAT score i got a 2050 which was pretty good. But I wanted to improve my score by another 200 points so I took it again. On my second test I got a 1800 and now on my third test I got a 1790! It’s like my scores are progressively getting worse and I am studying and practicing for these tests so I don’t what’s wrong.
If you took the June 6th SAT then the scores do not reflect the hard work you put in and contrary to what CB says, they are not reliable!
What is this supposed to mean? Some weird, irresponsible conspiracy theory?
There was an issue on that testing date that caused them to eliminate the scores on a few sections.
There was some issue with the test where the printed amount of time was different than what the proctors were given to say. They had to throw out a few sections of the test.
Yeah, I know about that, but for any given student, that was just one section and doesn’t explain drops in the other portions of the exam. If your math portion was messed up, gripe away; but that’s not responsible for the OP’s across-the-board drop.

35% of people retaking have their scores drop and 10% have their scores stay the same. So it’s not unheard of.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a person’s math scores drop significantly because the curve for that section is always harsh.
Okay because my scores have been consistely dropping by almost 200 points and I have been studying hard for the test.
^One thing is for sure. You are not studying the right way - for you. If you want to take the test again, regularly evaluate your study methods and keep tweaking them until you find a method that helps you improve.
Thanks CHD2013 maybe you’re right. I’ll be sure to do that
Good luck. Keep at it, you can do it!
Exactly!!! I totally agree!! The June 6th test ruined my day and my college dream. Still thinking if I should take it again on November( the third time) I only planned to take it two times before… I planned everything so well… But this blow is so hard!!!
Again I plan for early action
Yep, I felt so unusually rush on that day. I think the test proctor gave me less time
