<p>This is the #1 reason that I hate my school. It has nothing to do with the faculty, lunch, sports, but the certain programs they have in it. There is a program called CGI, in which a group of kids selected by teachers get put into special AP classes (not available to anybody else) that raise their GPA ranking from a 4.0 to a 5.6. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but my school believes that since these kids are “gifted”, they are placed under the same ranking system as the regular students.</p>
<p>Basically, a student can have a 3.3/4, and a student can have a 4.2/5.6, and the 4.2 looks 100x better, even though out of a 5.6, it is like a 2.6/4.0. Also, my school doesn’t wait the averages, so a few of my friends that didn’t do the CGI program, but have 3.9, 4.0s, are ranked in the 2/5 and 3/5 in my school, while the students getting 4.4/5.6 are in the top 20%.</p>
