My second Essay.. help

So I’m a sophmore and this is the second essay I’ve tried to write. The Question is “Do small Decisions often have major consequences”

Small Decisions do have major consequences because they are the first step into something bigger. We can clearly see this from Lennie in Of Mice and Men and from Nick in The Great Gatsby. Small decisions are important because if done incorrectly it can lead to a downfall.

In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, the protagonist Lennie, who has a childlike mind, decides to stroke the hair of Curley’s wife. Lennie and Curley’s wife were simply talking about soft things and Curley’s wife mentioned her hair and how delicate it was. She decided to allow Lennie to touch it so he can feel it for himself. Lennie made a tiny decision to do so and began to stroke her hair. Lennie has thick hands and his stoking of hair felt like pulling which scared Curley’s wife. She screamed and Lennie, who didn’t think he was hurting her, shook her and unknowingly broke her neck. Thus, his small decision to touch her hair ended up making him commit murder.

Through the actions of Nick Carraway in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, we can truly see why small decisions have major consequences. Nick made a little choice by inviting his cousin Daisy over for tea. Nick has previous knowledge that his neighbor Jay Gatsby, a former lover of Daisy, would be dropping by. This was the first step in Jay and Daisy’s affair. The affair went on for weeks which lead Daisy’s husband, Tom, to confront Daisy and Jay. After confronting them Daisy and Jay went back home and Daisy decided to drive. To confrontation left Daisy nervous and trembling, she made the fatal mistake of driving and ran into and killed Tom’s mistress Mrs. Wilson. Therefore, Nick’s small decision to invite Daisy over for tea lead Daisy into meeting Jay which lead to a love affair that ended the life of Myrtle Wilson.

After a careful analysis of The Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men, one can see that small decisions, indeed, do have major consequence. Every decision, whether be big or small has an effect on one’s life. One should take in consideration all the decisions they make because they are all important.

P.S-- I know I don’t have 3 examples and I’m wondering how bad that is. Also this was not timed because I just want to get a structure of it. Is it bad that both my examples ended with murder.

was this from a practice test?

^yeah noo just a list of all the SAT prompts since 2005

I would give it a 5 out of 6 or may be 6, its very interesting one

I’ll give it a 5 since it made sense and there weren’t too many grammatical errors. In addition, because there is only a page alloted
for the sat essay, it’s pretty difficult to write three examples. I’ve tried and failed miserably. Once, I was working on a practice essay and didn’t have enough room to add a conclusion to my essay. Thats why I stick to two good examples.

^LonelyStoner- me too, I don;t write big but when I write I leave a good amount of space between my each word. When I saw that it was only one page to write, I knew I couldn’t fit 3 examples and if I tried to fit 3 examples they would be very short ones which would bring my scores down. So 2 in perfect for me and if I can even think of a thrid one I’d try my best to fit it in
