I did some research on the internet, is Arguello House entirely female as it’s for the women in science and technology living-learning community? Would he be the only male person in that hall? I don’t recall seeing him write down this preference when he submitted his housing preference form so this assignment came as a shock for both of us. I actually have a copy of it and I checked it today. Could this have been a mistake made by the school (mixing up his gender)? Any advice from current UCSB students would be appreciated. Thanks.

Manzanita houses are separated by floors with alternating genders on each one. The women’s community you’re speaking of is likely limited to one floor. Living-learning communities (LLC’s) tend to get their own floor in the dorms, but not the entire dorm.

I don’t know if this helps, but I’m a girl in the LLC “Women in Science and Engineering,” yet I am in Madulce house. There is not one residence hall dedicated to women. I don’t think they’d put him on a women’s floor either If I am not wrong, I believe that the floors alternate in gender.

lucky guy.
yea right
