My Story, My Motivation, Picking A Major For The Future (Help?) (Tips?)

—> GO DOWN FOR MAJOR HELP THANK YOU
So here is my story I’m Asian kid living in NYC with a 1.7 GPA who just graduated from not really known High School. I’m not proud of myself I wasn’t always the brightest kid. During my high school years I became depressed because of my family issues and i had a girlfriend at the time. She was my first love and we broke up. I lost my motivation and grew into a depression. I cut school and regret it. I changed my ways for the better during my senior year. I didn’t fail a single class during my senior year. My lowest grades were a 80 and other then that the rest were 90s and above. I was able to graduate with the motivation of my Mom, who helped me throughout the rough time. I was a shy person during my freshman year and now i’m the loudest person who just likes to talk :). I started with 28 credit during my senior year and at the end of the 1st marking period i had 40.33 credits. I made up the credits by doing plato and night school. Lets say i got lucky this year. I had 3 regents i had to pass which was Global, Algebra, and Living Environment. I studied for these 3 test and I wasn’t happy with my results. I failed the Global with 62 and Algebra with a 63. I was shy a few points away but I passed the Living Environment with a 74. I had a chance of getting a local diploma if the superintendent would appeal my regents. She said no because she thought i didn’t deserve a local diploma. I missed my graduation ceremony and i wasn’t able to walk. I was pretty disappointed and i tried my best. I kept my head straight though because i had one more chance. I took the Algebra common core and got a raw score of 31. When the conversion charts came through i found out i passed. I had a chance for a appeal for the regents diploma still. I could graduate if she approved the appeal for one of my regents. She then said yes. YAY! I graduated and got my diploma and i didn’t look back. I was happy, yet disappointed still because i could have done better before. I regret what i did. Most of all i regret what i did to the people around me. My family and friends helped me through it all. They didn’t give up on me so i didn’t give up either.

My Major Problem:
So i knew that with my GPA and having a low family income, that i would have to go to a community college. I applied to a major of liberal arts and sciences. This is not what i want to do. I applied with that because that was like basically a undecided pick for me. But there is something i want to major in but i have no confidence in. There 2 dream jobs i have. One is being a pro gamer but too bad there isn’t a major for gaming. The other is a Fashion Designer. My friends tell me i have good fashion sense and some call me a “Fashion God”. I always like fashion and my mom was like a designer kinda back in China. What my problem is that i want to pick this major but i don’t think i’m up for it. I have no talents in designing. Like drawing and doing photo shop. All i have are ideas in my head but i don’t think that’s good enough. Plus i’m a guy, so i would be the only guy majoring fashion design in my school. Which is kinda good and not good at the same time. It not like i have a problem with being the only guy. It just it would be very awkward for me kinda and intimidating. I lack ambition but i want to try also. I want to open my own brand and eventually be like a well known designer like Margiela or Alexander Wang. I don’t want to be exactly like them though. I know i can learn things but i don’t know where to start. I want to make a choice to transfer majors before the fall semester starts. I’m a great learner and i learn fast. My mom knows how to sew also so that like a start. I want so tips and some help. I don’t know a lot but i’m eager to learn. If someone from a fashion design major can help, Thank you! (Or anyone) I think i’m just overthinking things in my end.

An applied degree in graphic design and an Associate of Arts is what you probably need to get. you can hone your drawing skills with the AAS degree and transfer to uni with the AA degree. when you get to Uni I think you would be well served getting a business degree

Good Luck :)
