My username changed out of nowhere

So I understand there’s a new way of logging in, and I was having troubles because I couldn’t remember my info so I reset my password. But once I was logged in, I noticed my username had been changed. It used to be bluemmylou, but now it’s user_469150. What’s the deal with this? Is it at all connected to the fact that I reset my password? I’d really just like my old username back rather than this randomly generated one.
