My work-study is 3000$. How many hours a week should I work?

I have to write that in a form I am required to complete, but I don’t know how many hours per week I should work… Any ideas?

Also, I have to write how many years of my schooling have been completed in English. English is not my native language. I have studied it as a second foreign language in school for 4 years. Should I write 4 years?

Thanks.

Well, if it’s $3000…is that per year or per semester?

Most people work 10-15 hours per week, though work-study participants can work up to 20 hours per week (and no more). You also cannot work over the $3000 limit, and most jobs pay either $7.25, $7.65, or $8.15. Most people’s semesters are 15 weeks. So the math is fairly easy from there. Multiply the pay rate ($7.25, $7.65, or $8.15) by the hours (10-20) by the weeks (15).

Just figure out what you can handle, and preferably what gets you closer to that $3000. Keep in mind that if you hit that $3000 (or $1500, if it’s $3000 per year) in September, you can’t work AT ALL for the rest of the year.

As for English…I’d assume they were asking how many years you’ve been taught, in English, not necessarily the class English? I’m not sure though. I’d call them up and ask.

Thank you, Leesamurmur.

I forgot to add this in my 1st post, but I also have to elaborate briefly on my academic interests and goals. I am mainly interested in social sciences. I plan to study hard, get elected to PBK (if possible…), go to grad school and earn a doctoral degree after that. Is this what I am supposed to write?

Sorry, i’m kinda lost what does PBK mean?

Anyway, I was awarded a $4000 work study, and plan to work around my class schedule.

PBK = Phi Beta Kappa, The National Honor Society of College (much more prestigious then National Honor Society in High School though lol )

Ah, that makes since now. :)

Yes, but make it sound more interesting ;P
