Thank you.

that is all.

Thank you.

that is all.

Smile and nod. Smile and nod :)

pretty much. ;;;;; :p

Any time, poetgrl. Any time. Been there, done that. (sometimes still do, even though my young’uns are not nearly that young anymore.)

do you think everyone’s else’s kids are angels?

Keep in mind, she is probably more miserable than she is making you. That is your consolation prize. This too shall (probably) pass. The real test is what outsiders think about her. If her friends’ parents want their kids to be around her, and her teachers enjoy her, that is a good sign. Good luck.

I remember a conversation with my teen daughter, when I had been looking forward to my husband being out of town and us having mom/daughter time and then she was just dreadful. I told her that she was being such a PITA so that she would be able to leave us and we would not mind seeing her go. We had a good laugh, and that helped.

If it is any comfort to you, my daughter and I weren’t speaking to each other last weekend; still not sure what I did wrong! Then a few days later she called me as if nothing had happen. Oh, and she is 26 ;)

She’s stubborn. No wise cracks about apples not falling far from trees, Tex. :p

Yes, snowball. That is a big consolation. :)

I’ll trade your younger D for my older S
What a “fun” age to be, not!

"She’s stubborn. No wise cracks about apples not falling far from trees, Tex. "

I can’t say that. I got my own problems and share of stubborn girls!

^^Believe me, boys can be stubborn too!
(and of course they KNOW everything!)

poetgirl - is she still at home? I’m having the hardest time with my youngest too and I realized it was partly because the aggression couldn’t go off in five different directions anymore, it was all coming at me!

Yes, this is her last year at home. Just ask her. ;)

(I adore this kid, don’t get me wrong.)

whenever I say this, the quick answer from anyone else in the family is “short trip.”

This is very often TRUE, don’t you think?

Hah! :D

…

Understand completely. I feel like a punching bag lately.

I was looking over one of the parent orientation agendas for one of the colleges S3 is thinking of and a session was called “separating from your kids”…I looked at my H and he said “we can skip that one.”

It’s part of her teen-kid job description ;)

Anyone want my youngest S? Two out of 3 isn’t bad, but this one is a real piece of work…
