The NACAC List of colleges with openings is now posted and will be updated daily.
Surprised to see Skidmore on the list.
I want to add that there are hundreds of additional colleges still accepting apps that are not on the NACAC list. So if there is a school of interest, check if the college’s app is still live in common app or it’s self app and/or put in a call to admissions.
Skidmore only open for transfers, not freshman.
Just wanted to bump this now that it’s May 2. I will note that colleges seem to be increasingly reticent to be on this list…meaning many more than the 270 or so on this list are still taking apps.
Some schools on the list still taking first years (all programs/majors may not be open):
U Dayton
U Alabama Birmingham
U San Diego (Not UCSD)
U St Andrews (UK)
U Kentucky
Willamette
Earlham
U Mass Lowell (good for Engineering and CS especially)
Ithaca
DePaul
Clark U
Allegheny
Still taking transfers:
Skidmore
Miami Ohio
Bucknell has openings for freshmen and transfers. They must have seriously miscalculated yield if they couldn’t meet enrollment goals.
Interesting. Bucknell has had it’s share of misses over the last 5-6 years. What’s even more shocking to me is that they put themselves on the NACAC list…not sure they’ve done that before. (It seems some schools are loathe to be on this list nowadays, because there are way more than 314 NACAC members still taking apps.)
I’m not sure the issue there…is FA not keeping pace with peers? Is it’s rural location hurting it? It’s high greek life %? NE location? A bit of all of that?
I would guess it’s a bit of all of that. I wonder if the recent lawsuit due to a football player’s death last summer has added additional stress to Bucknell’s financial picture and therefore the need to meet enrollment goals is even more urgent than usual.
