Nahr Ge?

*NAHR GE

What have you guys been choosing? There’s nothing that particularly interests me.

I highlighted Classical Studies, History, Literature, and Philosophy for the lower-division courses. I’m not a fan of foreign language, so despite the long list Sixth offers, I ignored… hm… all of them.

CLAS 51 isn’t even offered, I think. The classes for HILD look exceptionally boring, and the only lit class I like (LTCS 50) doesn’t fit into my schedule.
So I’m left with philosophy pretty much. I’m choosing PHIL 1, which isn’t an ideal choice, but it’s only a MW class (though the downside is that it starts at 5). It has no discussions either, so I guess that’s something else I don’t have to worry about.

On a bright note, I only have to take one NAHR class and I’m done with that requirement.

Probably literature for me, since I have to take a year’s worth of literature anyways and MCWP 40/50 wouldn’t cover it.
That way, I can kill two birds with one stone.

But on the other hand, I really want to take the PHIL series too…

What is NAHR?

Yeah, I was considering PHIL 1, but I’m worried it might end up involving a lot of reading, which I’m not a fan of.

NAHR is the North American history requirement for sixth college.

It can be that, or it’s also the Narrative, Aesthetic, and Historical Reasoning requirement for Sixth College. Either way, it’s just Sixth jibberish.

Wait. one. minute.

WHAT North American History requirement?

I’m totally wrong. I don’t why I wrote that above. Yeah, it’s the Narrative Aesthetic and Historical Reasoning requirement.

Sorry for the misinformation. Earlier I read NAHR and guessed north american history requirement. Then I looked it up and saw it was narrative aesthetic and historical reasoning requirement. Then I posted here and remembered that I looked it up, but I forgot it was the narrative thingy. My bad. I feel really stupid… Why can’t CC let me edit posts more than 20 minutes old??

Slorg ur an engineering major rite?So did ur counsellor recommend NAHR to you?
Are u planin 2 take it this fall?
Do engineering majors have to take it?

I’m an engineer major and he recommended that I take one, and 5 total classes.

I’m not in Sixth, so no, I’m not taking it. :)

It’s okay, Slorg. I’m an idiot for agreeing with you AND I’m in Sixth, so I should’ve known.

“It can be that or…”
Haha, noooot really.

r-akt: Wouldnt 5 classes exceed the enrollment limit of 19.5 units?
Are u in sixth college?
Whose your counsellor?(mine is ART )
My counsellor recommended: CAT 1, MAE 1 ,MATH 20 A ,CHEM 6AH, SXTH 20.

I’m CONFUSED. :|

Wait, I think there was a requirement like this for ALL students at UCSD. Maybe it’s not the NAHR, but it sounds similar.

American History.

Nah, it’s only 17 units, because I’m required to take to take a 1-unit class for my CS major.
