Name something out of your control that is stopping you from reaching your goals

You read me right.

I want you to name something, or someone, that is currently stopping you from reaching your full potential right now. Something OUT OF YOUR CONTROL.

The burden of proof will be on you to convince us why that something or someone is stopping you from reaching your goals is out of your control.

We are a society of individuals.

The individual is free to make choices, and any outcomes can be explained exclusively through the study of his or her ideas and decisions.

In our free and democratic society made up of individuals that associate only to further individual ends, coerced collective sacrifice by big government is not needed.

Blaming “society” masks the real blame of the situation, writes off personal responsibility, and takes away any power you had to improve the situation. Your life also loses its 3-d dimensionality and you lose the complexity of your thinking and the natural rights of man.

Let’s go!

Theoretically nothing is ultimately out of your control. If it’s raining buy an umbrella. If you get into an accident you shouldn’t have been on the road. Etc etc. You’re trying to argue that humans by nature are selfish beings etc etc. YAWN. It’s been argued before. If I wanted that argument I’d go buy one of the thousand books that deal with human nature.

No matter how hard I try to sound profound and convince others of my intelligence, someone else is always better at it.

You only address societal factors. What about brain cancer? Severe schizophrenia?

The only thing that is out of your control completely would be birth defects. But then we’re getting into the question of “what is potential”. Someone who was born ■■■■■■■■ might be technically reaching their goals/full potential still.

Nothing. I have never been one to let anything stand in my way.

Well if you become a paraplegic you’re probably not gonna be commissioning in to the Army any time soon.

Any way I don’t think there’s much out of my control keeping me from reaching most of my goals. The only one would be my goal to find a girl, and I most certainly do blame that on society because women have been conditioned into wanting the guy who acts like some Jersey Shore cast member than a guy who acts like Atticus Finch. Or a guy who berates her instead of compliments her. Or a guy who beats her instead of a video game.

If you believe that’s stopping you then all that means is you’re looking at the wrong women. There are plenty of women out there who don’t follow your stereotype.

At the moment, nothing is stopping me from achieving my goals. :)

I’d like to lodge a complaint against the conservation of matter and energy, please.

Uh what you believe in free will what are you stupid?

I was injured after being fouled hard last year and my goal is to play better soccer this year. Sadly, I don’t think I"ll be achieving this goal.

Then again, I think I’m doing a pretty good job controlling the majority of my life, so I really can’t complain. Haha.
