i want to know more about them

You can seach for them at boardingschoolreview

the US. thanks

I mean are you applying this Fall and matriculating for your Frosh year of High Schoo NEXT Falll? There is a time constraint that you need to be informed about. You will need to schedule an SSAT exam which may not be offered in your local area. Also…many schools require an interview and some will allow that to be an alum interview. How much do you know about boarding prep schools?

it’s not for me. it’s for my 12 year old sis. she is the type of student that could use the extra help from prep school

It stikes me odd that you are asking for the top schools and yet you say she would benefit from the help?? Are you familiar with the admit rates to the top schools??? I think that perhaps you are asking not for what you need but rather some idea which is misapplied to reality.

Well, a school like Kent or Suffield might be good for a student in need of help - but schools like Choate and Andover have 20% admit rates, are ridiculously hard to keep up with, and don’t provide extra help.

i thought people could buy their way into prep schools. look at the presidents. jokin

money -> good prep school -> good college

isn’t this the mentality
btw the type of extra help i meant my sister needed was just the ability to really focus in having life goals that a prep school would provide. she is really smart believe me especially in math and science

If the student needs academic help, prep schools probably aren’t the way to go. The work will only get harder, and there’s no hand-holding.

Of course you are a kid and wouldn’t know this but if you look up say…Phillips Andover Academy and look at the application/admit numbers you should be able to quickly determine that much more is required for admission and success than money. Or are you just making a political comment about Bush and wanting to know if you can get into Andover and then Yale and then Harvard???

no i will be attending college already this fall and i did not feel that i needed the help of prep school or wanted to go to one

what help is your sis needing? Are you looking for a prep near where you are in college?

no the only reason i want to know about prep schools is because i want her to have the best chances of being accepted to ivies and we all know that ivies tend to accept more students from prep school. as far as academics go there is no problem. i just would like her to have a better focus in life in general and better chances of being accepted to harvard, yale, etc

ignore this thread

So…if you are at an Ivy she has a better chance already. Are you a legacy?

----------------deleted

She’ll have a much better chance if she goes a high school where she can handle the course load, not a prep school where she’ll flounder.

“not a prep school where she’ll flounder.”
she’s not special ed
she can adjust to it

but as you are probably aware there are prep schools for just about every type of student including those who are of minimal skill. One thing is certain…you can easily look this up…boardingschoolreview.com

ok i will thanks
