Nanoengineering

I want to study nanotechnology in grad school (I want to do practical work + research in this field). Which schools are best for this?

You have to be more specific. It has become a very diverse field. There are applications in condensed physics, materials, biomaterials, chemistry, electronics, etc. so basically every hard science field you can think of. “Nano” is very general, simply referring to the length scale where the quantum effect becomes important. That’s really all it is, so you have to decide which area you want to interface it with. As most senior level profs ask nowadays, “but…what is nano?”
